Harry James Potter was born to James and Lily Potter, a pureblood and muggleborn wizard and witch who met at Hogwarts several years before his birth. When Harry was scarcely one year old, the happy family that consisted of the three of them was quickly shattered, changing the young boy's life forever. A man by the name of Lord Voldemort had it out for Harry and his family, and he - with the help of a man by the name of Peter Pettigrew, who had been Harry’s parents “friend” until he betrayed them - tracked them down and slaughtered them. When he had turned to Harry, however, to likely do the same, he had found himself unable to do so and ended up destroying himself in the process. In his wake, he left only death, destruction, and a lightening bolt-shaped scar.
Fast forwarding eleven years, Harry found himself living with the Dursleys, the only family he had left. He knew nothing of who he really was, who his parents had been, or what lay ahead of him, thanks to his aunt and uncle’s efforts to “stamp the magic out of him”. Thankfully, a half-giant by the name of Hagrid tracked him down and managed to deliver his letter and take him away to a world that was more fantastical and wonderful than Harry had ever known. The few weeks that Harry had to spend back at the Dursleys before being able to finally go to Hogwarts were almost torture, however once he was there he knew immediately that he had finally found his home.
Over the years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Harry found himself seemingly facing danger after danger, continuously placing himself into one danger or another. Of course, danger and misfortune simply seemed to follow him wherever he went, much to his disdain. In his first year, he found himself face to literal face with Lord Voldemort, who had taken up residence on the back of Professor Quirrel’s head. Thankfully, Harry had not died, and instead had even managed to prevent him from coming back to power and even had earned enough house points for his feat that he had been able to win his house, Gryffindor, the house cup for the year.
During his second year, the Chamber of Secrets was opened once again for the first time in fifty years, much to the horror of students all around the castle. Students, ghosts and cats alike were seemingly attacked left and right - left in paralyzed states. Finally, everything culminated in Ginny Weasley, Harry’s best mate Ron’s little sister, being taken down into the chamber. Despite the major risk to his own safety, Harry went down after her with Ron and managed to save her life, destroying Tom Riddle’s horcrux and killing a basilisk along the way - though he had no way of knowing that at the time.
Harry’s third year at Hogwarts was the year that he had finally met his Godfather Sirius Black, as well as another one of his father’s old best mates, Remus Lupin. Despite thinking his godfather a murderer at the time, once he had found out the truth of the matter and even come face to face with Peter Pettigrew, he had found himself incredibly grateful for the experience and for having Sirius finally in his life. He was the closest thing Harry had ever had to a father, since his own father’s death. He almost had a family.
It was Harry’s fourth year of Hogwarts that he found himself face to face with the fully-reincarnated version of Lord Voldemort. He was back, though no one seemed to believe him when he recounted his tale of what had happened. Harry had been entered into the Triwizard Tournament against his will, for the purpose of getting him to the portkey that led him to where Voldemort’s half-formed self was waiting. To Harry’s horror, he had to stay tied up and watching wide-eyed as the “man” who murdered his parents had yet another boy murdered - Cedric Diggory, a talented Hufflepuff who had been beloved by all - before coming back to full power once again. Harry had managed to escape, but the damage was done.
With a whirl of fear and mistrust, Harry’s fifth year had come around, and no one seemed to believe him when he recounted what he had experienced. It wasn’t until Harry had foolishly gone to the Ministry of Magic to save his godfather, Sirius - or so he had thought - and Voldemort had himself appeared in front of the minister of magic that anyone took what he had to say seriously. But the damage had already been done, at that point. During the fight, Harry had lost the closest person he had to family in a few short moments. Sirius was dead, and Harry mourned the loss more than almost anything.
Voldemort’s rise back to power went quickly from there on, even resulting in an attack on the castle in which the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore, was murdered in front of Harry’s eyes by Severus Snape. Many were injured and Harry found himself sobered by what needed to be done. After his sixth year ended, the Gryffindor found himself on a mission to destroy all of the Horcruxes that Voldemort had left behind, hopefully including the man himself at the end of it all. Harry had promised himself that he would not rest until he had avenged all he had lost in his life due to Lord Voldemort, and that was exactly what he set out to do.
After nearly a year in hiding with Ron and Hermione, Harry had finally achieved what he had set out to do. Voldemort had fallen in a heap in the Great Hall of Hogwarts, small and withered in death, but it had come at quite the cost. So many of the people that Harry had cared about were dead or injured or changed forever. Nothing would be the same, despite that they were finally safe from the reign of Lord Voldemort.
Now, after receiving word that he would be allowed to return to Hogwarts to complete their last year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry was still not certain that it was the best idea after all he had been through. Still, due to a small want to return to the place that he had once called home, Harry found himself again standing in front of the castle where he had both lost and gained so much over the years. It was time to rebuild and move on, but Harry wasn’t sure that he was ready. He felt cold and empty most of the time, and he knew it would be difficult to act as though nothing had happened. Still, only time would tell.

Harry Potter likely possesses one of the most recognized faces within the wizarding world. Harry has dark, eternally mussed up jet-black hair that sticks up every which way despite his best efforts - a fact that used to irritate his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon to no end back before he had known nothing of the wizarding world, so many years ago. Harry's eyes are a vivid, bright green. Often, he is described as a nearly exact copy of his late father, James Potter, by those who had once known him except for having inherited his mother's almond-shaped eyes. Harry has a slight, perhaps even slightly athletic, build when it comes to his body type. However, he has always been about an average height and rather thin more than anything else. One distinguishing feature - or perhaps blemish - that Harry has possessed for almost his entire life is the lightening-bolt scar that graces his forehead. It is an aftermath from an attack on his family by Lord Voldemort as a baby, but now only serves as somewhat of a reminder for all that he has lost hroughout his life, as well as his recent feats when it comes to the former Dark Lord and his regime.
Personality
Likes: Chocolate Frogs, Transfiguration, Gryffindor House, Quidditch, and helping others in need. | Dislikes: Dark magic, most Slytherins, people staring at his scar, death/loss, and cockroach clusters. |
Best Traits: Brave, determined, incredibly loyal, willing to give up everything for the ones he loves, compassionate, kind. | Worst Traits Rash/impulsive, not thinking before he acts/speaks, perhaps overly competitive, overly risk-taking, hotheaded, second-guesses himself, judges many (aka Slytherins) before necessarily knowing them due to prior experiences. |
Quirks/Habits:Chews on the end of his quills, going out of his way to avoid the press or pestering members of the wizarding world | BEST Class: Defense Against the Dark Arts WORST Class: Divination |
Patronus: Stag | Mirror of Erised: His parents and family, alive and with him - finally together at last. |
Dementor: His parents' dying moments. | Boggart: A dementor |
Harry is a kind person inherently, who thrives on helping others and fighting for what he believes in. What he lacks in his personality, he more than makes up for with his courage and his loyalty when it comes to his friends. Though sometimes rash and stubborn, and perhaps somewhat hot-headed at times, Harry considers himself generally a fairly calm person. Harry is also somewhat intuitive and can think quickly on his feet - though nowhere near the level that one of his best friends, one Hermione Granger, is on.
Recently, Harry has found it almost difficult to trust others - including himself, at times - though he is overall fairly confident in the judgements that he does make. In general, Harry is fairly open-minded, except when it comes to former Death Eaters or even just certain Slytherin students.
Harry's history is well known, and it has ultimately shaped every aspect of his life; including his personality, to be sure. From his recent experiences involving the fall of Lord Voldemort and his role in it all, Harry has found it somewhat hard to return to normal life without thinking back on everything that he has lost and all of the things that he was forced through in the past few months. He is extremely grateful for his friends and all who have stuck by him, and finds that he feels almost indebted to them for all of the things they have done for him.
Harry is both independent and a team player - which shows in both his experiences in life and even as far back to his sixth year at Hogwarts on the Gryffindor quidditch team. Harry considers himself fairly self-reliant, especially when it comes to making decisions in life-and-death situations, however he has learned to more than accept help when he desperately needs it. Harry is not foolish enough to believe that he would have made it through many of the things that he has experienced without those most important in his life by his side. His fears, though almost irrational now, are simply of another dark wizard rising and continuing Voldemort's work - as unlikely as that is. Harry fears losing more than he has lost already in his life, and he fears not being able to ever live a normal life without having to fight or without being harassed by someone. As for the future, Harry's main ambition and goal now is to finish his final year of schooling - despite being somewhat dubious about necessarily needing parts of it after his past year's experience - and perhaps one day going on to become an auror. Harry only hopes to continue helping others and fighting for what he believes in.

It was time to rebuild and move on, but Harry wasn’t sure that he was ready. He felt cold and empty most of the time, and he knew it would be difficult to act as though nothing had happened. Still, only time would tell.
Green eyes snapped open, a cold chill running through Harry's body as the dream he had just been having vividly came back to the forefront of his mind. Putting his hand to the scar on his forehead absentmindedly to wipe away the sheen of cold sweat, Harry groaned to himself and flipped his legs off the edge of his four-poster bed, a frown immediately making its way across his face as he evaluated the nightmare he had just experienced. It was the same one he had been having since the end of the war and since Voldemort's defeat. While Harry knew firsthand the possibility of Voldemort still being alive was nonexistent, he still couldn't help but feel a cold rush of something akin to fear or shock at the very thought.
Putting his head in his hands and taking a deep breath, Harry finally moved to get up once his heart rate had returned to normal. Briefly, he wondered if Hermione and Ron were having this much trouble coming back to Hogwarts again after everything he had gone through, but instead he pushed the thought quickly from his mind and set about getting dressed and ready for the day, despite the early hour. The very first classes of the year were to begin again later that day, and while Harry didn't exactly foresee having any troubles with them after the things he had learned and experienced while on the run, he still wanted to be as prepared as possible.
Reaching for his trusty Holly-wood wand, Harry sighed and exited the dormitory that had been given to all of the "eighth-year" boys for that year. It was a rather unusual situation, he supposed, but at least they had been given the option to come back and finish their educations after the events from the previous year.
Stepping out into the small, narrow staircase beyond the dormitory, Harry quickly made his way down them and into the familiar red and gold common room, before settling himself into his old favorite chair in front of the fire. The room was deserted for now, everyone likely still asleep, but Harry didn't mind. He needed time to relax and simply think before he began the busy day he was sure to have.
